Six journalists win ICRC awards

The International Committee of the Red Crescent Monday (September 12) announced the winners of country’s 2011 humanitarian reporting awards for the print and electronic media.
In a year replete with major natural and man-made catastrophes there was plenty of scope for reporting on humanitarian action in Pakistan, the ICRC said.
Six journalists were awarded for their outstanding humanitarian reports.
Each year the ICRC invites Pakistani journalists to submit humanitarian reports for judging in a range of categories.
The award winners for 2011 are: Raza Hamdani (BBC), Umer Farooq (Herald), Shahabuddin (Aaj TV, Peshawar) Asim Rana (Geo TV, Islamabad) and Henna Saeed (DawnNews, Lahore) were joint second.
One other award went to Muhammed Daud Khan (FM 96, Islamabad)
