Dependent on America

Regardless of what Ms. Sethi has written, your emtional suggestion to "please pack luggage along with your Pro-American knowledge and leave this place" is quite funny. That's what every illiterate maulvi in the street is screaming when people sensibly question the role of our military-mullah alliance i.e. the use of religious parties and religious sentiments for political gain (please read history of Pakistan other than our government curriculum textbooks to learn about this).

Also, it is quite funny when you cannot tolerate criticism of the military and call people who question the establishment 'Pro-American'. Do you how 'Pro-American' the Pakistani military is? I mean, seriously! Our military is completely dependent on American weapons and trainings for its officers to remain a modern and well-equipped army in the region. If you do not believe me, please go ask any serving or ex-army, navy or air force officer about the necessity of American support to Pakistani military. And this fine for all Pakistanis, we need American military and economic support to stay afloat; just realize how ridiculous it is when you know that both the military and government are subservient to American aid but call anyone who questions their dubious antics as 'Pro-American'...really?!

If you're still unclear, here's how the equation works out:

Pakistani military = dependent on American weaponry and training

Pakistan government = dependent on American economic and political support

Pakistani military + government = dependent on American support (military, economic and political)

Criticism of Pakistani military + government = Criticism of dependency on American support, not being Pro-American!

In fact, being supportive of Pakistani military + government = being Pro-American!
