In an overs-reduced match at Pallekelle due to rain, Pakistan scored an easy 7-wicket win against Zimbabwe in a Group A World Cup match. Asad Shafiq hit 78* runs while Mohammad Hafeez contributed with a noticeable 49. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. They put up 151 runs on board in 39.4 overs which Pakistan chased down easily.
