NATO and Libya

While there is no doubt that Col. Kaddafi is a dictator and wants to impose a dynasty on the Libyan people who deserve our support, the military intervention by the US and NATO is motivated by selfish interests and is hypocritical. If they really care about people and humanitarian causes, why they are silent about the repression in Yemen, Bahrain, and elsewhere. A military intervention will further complicate the situation and could lead to ground troops landing, as it happened in Iraq and Afghanistan and could happen in FATA and the KPW.

Hence, military intervention by these powers must be condemned without any reservation. People want freedom from tyrants and bad governance but they don't want bad governments to be replaced by another set of corrupt puppets like Karzai. Let the people decide! It is not for Obama, Cameron, or Sarkozy to determine what the Arab people want. by Nazia
